Special Aarati Timings July 25 – July 27
Kumbhabhishekam is the process of homogenizing, synergizing and uniting the mystic powers with the Vigraha of the ord. It is held either to formally consecrate a new temple or reconsecrate an old one, which usually occurs at twelve year intervals. Leading up to the consecration, a number of rituals are performed. Kumbha means the head and denotes the Shikara or crown of the Mandir. On the appointed day and auspicious time, the Kumbha is bathed with the charged and sanctified holy waters in the sacrificial pot and, by a mystique process, the pranic powers trickle down a silver wire and enter the Deity installed inside the sanctum sanctorum. The Deity, which was till then only a marble, a sculptured stone image, is transformed into a vibrant and vivid living Bimba of the Lord with innate beauty, grace and grandeur, conferring His divine blessings.
